What to Expect at Evermore

Division Inns is the name we use to market our two Guesthouses, the Evermore and the Bluebird. They are about a 1/4 mile from each-other, a short walk through our beautiful neighborhood.

  • Built in 1909 by a family who owned surrounding orchards, this inn had from the 1930's until recently hosted weddings.  In fact, many long time locals have fond memories of attending these happy events.  During 2010 - 2011, in order to start hosting overnight guests we undertook an extensive restoration, meticulously going through and saving what was wonderful while improving what needed work.  The result is the warmth of a grand historic inn with a modern sense of comfortable beds, clean atmosphere, amazing bathrooms and fast wi-fi.

  • Our guest rooms all have their own heat & a/c controls, modern windows, insulated walls and carpeting.  The luxury mattress' are the same as those in the Hilton Hotels.  We do not automatically service guest rooms while you are checked-in, however should anything need attention or replenishment just let us know and we will happily take care of it!  Stays of 7+ nights have mid-stay cleans/linen replacements arranged, too.  Simple yet attentive.....

  • All of our guest rooms have en-suite private bathrooms that have been either created from scratch or completely rebuilt, providing modern amenities within an historical setting.  A commercial water system provides high pressure and endless hot water.  The Tilikum Studio has a tiled modern walk-in shower, the St. John's Suite has a deluxe bathroom with both a clawfoot soaking tub as well as a large 2 person walk in shower.  All of the other guest rooms have a clawfoot soaking tub / shower combo- visit our Rooms page for pictures of each guest room and their bathrooms.  Shampoo/soap combos, towels, washcloths, robes and a hair dryer are provided for you.

  • Minimum age for children to stay is 6 years old. We love kids but younger ones tend to have a harder time understanding noise level etiquette.  Kids of all ages are welcome to visit during the day!

  • Upon request we can have a twin mattress brought into your room (except the Tilikum Studio).  Please arrange with us at least a day ahead of your arrival.

  • We are open everyday. However, certain holidays you need to check-in beforehand & check-out afterwards: Fourth of July, Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve/Christmas. This is known as a stay-thru.

  • We have a 2 room per party limit... apologies but we do not accept group reservations as we have found that vacation rentals are more suited for them.  We ask, too, that you not try to get around this by booking rooms separately.

  • Unfortunately due to city code we are unable to host weddings or events here.

  • Rooms are ready by 3pm, early arrivals are welcome to use our common rooms or drop luggage off, and late arrivals are fine.  Room check-out is by 12 noon, you are welcome to relax in the social rooms for the afternoon and we can store your luggage for the day.

  • The Continental Breakfast is ready when you are, no having to work with our schedule!  What is offered: strong coffee, tea, dairy/plant milks, orange juice & hot chocolate, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, locally made bagels & bread with an assortment of spreads; pastries, fruit, muffins, cereals, oatmeal, breakfast bars and nuts.  Our bagels are vegan, and gluten-free options are available, too.  There are a few great cafes in the neighborhood that serve up choice breakfasts, if you are so inclined.

  • We have an equipped kitchen that you are welcome to cook in & store groceries.  We ask that you leave the space clean when you are finished.

  • Reliable & free high speed wi-fi throughout the property!   A guest phone is available if needed.  Or perhaps crack open a book from the library shelves.

  • Complimentary laundry machines are open 4-10 pm everyday, and an iron/board are available.

  • Parking is complimentary and in our private parking lot, accessible by the driveway on Clinton Street as well as via Cesar E Chavez Blvd.

  • Due to the historic nature of the Guesthouse all rooms require climbing stairs to get to them - there are no elevators.

  • We are a 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown and City Buses stop nearby.  Division/Clinton is a lovely neighborhood to walk and bicycle around in, it features a nationally acclaimed restaurant scene, boutique shops, cafes, friendly people and beautiful gardens.

  • There is a bus stop 1/4 block from the Guesthouse
